A group of local business owners and sporting organizations is encouraging hunting to boost local businesses.
The group “Hunting Works for Minnesota” is touring the state to spread their message. It represents more than 80 hotel owners, retailers, hunters and small town chambers of commerce.
The most recent survey from the National Fish and Wildlife Service found that 535,000 people over the age of 16 hunt in Minnesota every year. Between gear, travel, lodging and other expenses, they spend $494 million annually.
